It’s summer! This is usually the time to get away and adventure, but that is much easier said than done these days. Unfortunately with COVID-19, the lines between work and home have blurred into each other in many ways. Now our homes are our offices, our beds are our desks, and our children have turned into our co-workers. I know for many this time has been a great opportunity to grow closer to family and to take time for what matters.

But, despite the good that comes from mixing home and work, there are some negative effects. Many of us are discovering that not only should we have work-life balance, but we should keep our work and life pretty firmly separated.

Whether you’re a workaholic, stay-at-home mom, or just trying to get some work done in your closet while the kids scream in the other room, it’s important for all of us to get a break every once in a while. Not only is it important, but today my goal is to show you how taking a break is an absolute necessity!

Now, before anyone freaks out about not having money to go on vacation or being worried about that little pandemic thing going on, let’s be clear: what I’m not talking about, necessarily, is flying to Hawaii with the whole family. Today I hope you’ll be flexible with me as I discuss ways to get that needed break without breaking the bank or putting yourself at unnecessary risk.
