Hello, friends. Are you hanging in there? Needless to say, life is crazy right now. The way we socialize, work, attend school and even grocery shop has changed. Many people who once had secure jobs are now working through the new reality of being furloughed or laid off. Even the most well prepared and secure of us have been hard hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. This is certainly an easy time to be overwhelmed. We all face overwhelm at times, but for many of us, the magnitude of how overwhelmed we feel is completely unprecedented. So what can be done to handle the floods without being swept away?
Well, the answer is contrary to what you initially think. Change often seems like the wrong answer, shouldn’t we hold onto stability? However, changing small and simple things adds up. For example, when navigating an airplane or ship and the vessel veers off course by even a few degrees, it results in a much different destination. Similarly, small choices now will put us on a much different trajectory for things moving forward. Today I’m focusing on these small decisions, simple things that you can do right now that will help you to manage the overwhelm, and get yourself in a better place, both for the present and the future.
