Dare to Lead By Brené Brown

It’s time for another Pursue What Matters book review! This month I’m reviewing Dare To Lead by the one and only Brené Brown.

If you haven’t heard of Brené Brown in today’s world, you might be living under a rock. She came into the public eye after her 2010 TED Talk where she talked about vulnerability. In her TED Talk she opened up about her “spiritual awakening” (read: breakdown). Still to this day, it’s one of the highest viewed TED Talks of all time, totaling around 44 million at the time of this podcast.

Many may not know that Brené, whose fame has mostly been around her research on vulnerability and shame, has also spent much of her time researching courageous leadership. That research is the focus of her book Dare To Lead and will be the focus of the podcast today.

Dare To Lead™ is an empirically based courage-based program. It is meant to provide the information needed to improve on what she says are the four observable, teachable and measurable skill sets that make up courage. This book is great because there is no fluff, and it’s all proven, researched material.

It’s a book that every single leader must have on their shelf. So join me today to learn more about the science of leadership!
